Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's iconic 'Twelve Sunflowers in a Vase' painting, which is one of his most famous works. For Vincent, yellow was a symbol of hope and friendship which is why he painted Sunflowers intended for his friend Paul Gauguin.
This brooch set was inspired by the point of view of seeing the painting in a gallery setting, taking in the atmosphere of the space and the wonder of the painting. I always admire the stunning ornate frames which are often equally as beautiful as the work itself, which is why I wanted to include it as part of the piece. The label mini brooch is inspired by the information panel next to artworks in Art Galleries. The pair worn together is like wearing a little slice of the art world.
