The Monarch Butterfly relies on the beautiful Milkweed Plant for survival. The plant is very important to the survival of the Monarch as it provides everything that a growing caterpillar needs to develop into an adult butterfly. The caterpillars only eat milkweed which is why the Monarch Butterfly can also be known as the Milkweed Butterfly.
This brooch shows a regal Monarch Butterfly who has landed on the Milkweed Plant to enjoy some nectar from the flower. The markings of this butterfly are striking with the bold contrast of orange and black. The Milkweed flower was created using a pale pink marble sparkle acrylic. Details in this piece such as the white markings on the butterfly and the petals of the flower have been engraved and hand painted.
This brooch measures 50mm tall by 50mm wide.
